Chances are that if you have any employees, you’ve got to have meetings.
Chances are also that they will be boring, unproductive and time consuming , or maybe it’s just the ones I’ve sat in.
But it doesn’t and shouldn’t have to be that way.
Marissa Mayer, Google’s VP of Search Products , holds an average of 70 meetings a week and serves as the last stop before engineers and project managers get the opportunity to pitch their ideas to Google’s co-founders, Sergey Brin and Larry Page.
Eight teams consisting of directors, managers, and engineers—all at various stages of product development—answer to her.
So it’s safe to say her time is tight.
So how does she go about getting things done at a behemoth like Google while holding an inordinate amount of meetings every week ??
